Hintergrund
- EYA1 (Eyes Absent Homolog 1) is a member of the eyes absent (EYA) family of proteins. EYA1 plays a role in transcriptional regulation during organogenesis. It is thought play a role in the development of the kidney, branchial arches, eye and ear. EYA1 is thought to coactivate SIX2, SIX4 and SIX5. EYA1 has intrinsic protein phosphatase activity, and dephosphorylates proteins such as Histone H2.AX phosphorylated on Y142. It is thought to play a role in promoting efficient DNA repair over apoptosis in response to genotypic stress.Synonyms: Eyes absent homolog 1
